I will not wink, knowing that if I did, my lover would hide himself; and for this reason, this town says, he is unloving

மு. வரதராசனார்

கண் இமைத்தால் காதலர் மறைந்து போதலை அறிகின்றேன், அவ்வளவிற்கே இந்த ஊரார் அவரை அன்பில்லாதவர் என்று சொல்லுவர்.

சாலமன் பாப்பையா

என் கண்கள் இமைத்தால் உள்ளிருக்கும் என்னவர் மறைவதை அறிந்து நான் கண்களை இமைப்பதில்லை. இதை விளங்கிக் கொள்ளாத உறவினர் அவரை அன்பற்றவர் என்கின்றனர்.
