மு. வரதராசனார்

(போர் முனையில்) அழிவு இல்லாததாய்(பகைவருடைய) வஞ்சனைக்கு இரையாகாததாய், தொன்று தொட்டுவந்த அஞ்சாமை உடையதே படையாகும்.

சாலமன் பாப்பையா

போரில் தோற்காமலும், பகைவரின் சதிக்குத் துணை போகாமலும், தொன்று தொட்டு வரும் வீரத்தை உடையதே படை.

எந்த நிலையிலும் அழியாததும், சூழ்ச்சிக்கு இரையாகததும், பரம்பரையாகவே பயமற்ற உறுதி உடையதும்தான் உண்மையான படை எனப்படும்
