The Shadow of a Thought

In a peaceful village lived two friends, Somu and Ravi. Somu was known for his integrity and deep respect for everyone's family and boundaries. Ravi, however, often felt that he could have whatever he desired, regardless of whose it was. One day, Ravi began to develop improper thoughts regarding Velan, a hardworking and kind neighbor, and Velan's wife, Meena. Ravi felt a strange urge to interfere in their happy home. One evening, while Velan was away at work, Ravi planned to visit their house with ill intentions. As he approached, Somu happened to pass by and noticed the restless, dishonest look in Ravi's eyes. Somu stopped him and said softly, 'Ravi, a mistake might be hidden from the world, but the guilt of disrespecting another's marriage will stay in your soul forever. True greatness lies in respecting the sanctity of someone else's home.' Ravi froze. Even though he hadn't acted on his thoughts, the realization hit him like a heavy weight. He understood that even a bad intention stains the character. Overwhelmed by guilt and Somu's wisdom, Ravi decided to turn away and vowed never to covet what belongs to another family again. He spent the rest of his life being a loyal and respectful friend.
