In a peaceful village, two best friends named Arjun and Rohan lived together. They shared everything. One afternoon, Arjun accidentally broke a neighbor's flowerpot while playing. Feeling embarrassed, he whispered the secret only to Rohan. 'Please keep this between us, Rohan,' Arjun pleaded. However, the next day at the village fair, Rohan couldn't resist. He started telling everyone how Arjun had been clumsy and broken the pot, laughing as he spoke. Arjun felt a sharp sting in his heart. He felt betrayed. A few weeks later, a new boy joined their school. When the new boy asked Rohan about Arjun, Rohan immediately began gossiping about Arjun's mistakes. Watching this, Arjun realized a painful truth: if Rohan could betray his closest friend's trust, he would surely do much worse to a stranger. Arjun decided to distance himself, leaving Rohan to realize that once trust is broken, it is hard to rebuild.
The Broken Secret
The story illustrates that someone who lacks the integrity to protect a friend's privacy cannot be trusted by anyone. What will those not do to strangers whose nature leads them to publish abroad the faults of their intimate friends ?
