The Voice of Compassion

In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Karthik and his father, Ravi. Ravi ran a meat shop in the local market. One afternoon, while walking to the market, Karthik found a tiny, shivering puppy. He named him Buddy. Buddy and Karthik became inseparable. One evening, Ravi told Karthik, 'Son, we made a lot of profit today! Let's go buy those toys you wanted.' But Karthik was looking at Buddy, who was wagging his tail happily. That night, Karthik overheard his father discussing how much money they could make by selling more animals. Karthik felt a heavy sadness in his heart. He went to his father and softly said, 'Dad, if we didn't need to kill animals just to eat, would anyone ever sell them for money? Every creature feels pain just like we do.' Ravi looked into his son's innocent eyes and saw the truth. He realized that the cycle of selling life for profit only exists because of the demand for meat. He decided to change his life. Ravi closed the meat shop and started a small grocery store selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Karthik, Buddy, and Ravi lived happily, knowing they were doing what was right.
