The True Radiance

In a peaceful valley lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun always wanted to look special, as if he were a wise sage from the old stories. For the village festival, he grew his hair very long and wore heavy, colorful robes to impress everyone. However, when he walked through the market, people whispered and giggled, not because he looked wise, but because he looked like he was pretending. His father, a kind man named Madhav, noticed Arjun's sadness. He sat him down and said, 'Arjun, it doesn't matter if you grow your hair long or shave it all off. True goodness isn't found in how you look, but in whether you avoid the actions that wise people condemn. If you live with honesty and kindness, you need no costume to be respected.' Arjun realized that his attempts to look holy were hollow if his actions weren't pure. From that day on, he focused on being helpful and truthful.
