The Feast of the Ears

In a small, peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun loved food more than anything else. Whether it was sweet mangoes or crispy snacks, he always wanted more. One evening, his grandfather, a wise man named Madhav, sat him down. 'Arjun,' he said gently, 'there are two kinds of feasts in this life. One fills your stomach, and the other fills your soul.' Arjun looked puzzled. 'The food you eat will satisfy you for a few hours, but the wisdom you hear through your ears will nourish you forever. Those who listen to good teachings are as blessed as the gods themselves.' Arjun decided to try this. Instead of just playing, he started listening carefully to the stories told by elders and the lessons shared by teachers. A few months later, when the village faced a difficult problem regarding water sharing, Arjun remembered a wise lesson he had heard about fairness. He suggested a solution that made everyone happy. Seeing his wisdom, Madhav smiled and said, 'You have tasted the food of the ears, Arjun, and it has made you truly great.'
