To secure the friendship of the great is true wisdom; it is (also) wisdom to keep (that friendship unchanged, and) not opening and closing (like the lotus flower)

In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun. His father was a respected teacher. One summer, Arjun befriended an elderly musician named Mr. Raghav. Mr. Raghav was wise and kind, and he spent hours teaching Arjun the secrets of music. However, as the weeks passed, Arjun became distracted by new games in the village. When Mr. Raghav came to visit, Arjun was too busy playing to show interest. He acted indifferent, sometimes being overly excited and other times completely ignoring the old man. Feeling hurt by this inconsistency, Mr. Raghav stopped visiting. Months later, when Arjun realized how much he missed the music and the wisdom, he went to find Mr. Raghav. He found him and said, 'I am sorry. I treated our friendship like a lotus flower—opening and closing whenever I felt like it. Please forgive my inconsistency.' Seeing Arjun's sincere growth, Mr. Raghav welcomed him back. Arjun learned that true wisdom lies not just in making great friends, but in keeping that bond steady and unchanging.
