Once upon a time, there was a beautiful kingdom called Emerald Valley. Its ruler, King Vikram, was brave and strong, but he was also very stern. He believed that rules were more important than feelings. One year, a terrible drought hit the kingdom. The rivers dried up, and the crops withered away. People were starving. A poor farmer named Ravi went to the palace to beg for help for his family. However, King Vikram coldly replied, "The royal granary is for the kingdom's defense, not for individual charity." The people were heartbroken. A young boy named Arjun asked his father, "Father, if there is no rain, the earth dies. If there is no kindness in a King, do the people not die too?" These words reached the King's ears. Realizing his mistake, King Vikram opened the royal stores and provided food and water to everyone. As he saw the smiles return to the faces of his people, he understood that a true leader's strength lies in compassion, not just in power.
The Land Without Rain
The story illustrates that just as rain is essential for life on earth, kindness is essential for the survival and happiness of people under a ruler. As is the world without rain, so live a people whose king is without kindness
