Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Chandrapur, lived King Vikram. He was a powerful ruler, but he had a sharp temper. Whenever someone made a mistake, he would shout harsh words and give very heavy punishments. While the people obeyed him, they lived in constant fear. They didn't love him; they only feared him. One sunny afternoon, a young boy named Arjun accidentally let his goat wander into the royal garden, where it nibbled on some precious flowers. King Vikram, seeing this, roared in anger, 'You naughty boy! You shall be punished severely!' Arjun trembled with fear, tears welling in his eyes. An old, wise advisor named Madhavan stepped forward. He calmly said, 'Your Majesty, a ruler's strength lies in his people's hearts, not in their fear. Harsh words and excessive punishments act like a file that slowly wears away a king's true power. If you rule by fear, you will eventually rule alone.' Vikram paused and looked at the terrified boy. He realized that his anger was making him a lonely king. From that day on, he chose gentle words and fair guidance over harshness. The kingdom flourished, and for the first time, the people truly loved their King.
