The Sweet Trap of False Praise

The story illustrates that just as a bent bow signals an impending shot, sweet words from a foe signal hidden malice. Since the bending of the bow bespeaks evil, one should not accept (as good) the humiliating speeches of one's foes

The way you help everyone is so inspiring,' Rohan said sweetly. Arjun felt a surge of joy and pride. However, a few days later, Arjun overheard Rohan laughing with other boys, mocking Arjun's clumsiness. Arjun realized that Rohan's sweet words were like a bow being bent—ready to shoot an arrow of betrayal. He learned that praise coming from someone who secretly mocks you is not a gift, but a trap.
