The Garden of Wisdom

In a peaceful village lived two friends, Kavi and Rohan. Kavi was a bright boy who loved learning new things, while Rohan was often indifferent to everything around him. One spring, the village elder announced a competition: 'Whoever nurtures the community garden most beautifully shall receive a special reward.' Kavi jumped at the chance. He woke up early every day to water the plants and pull out weeds with care. Rohan, however, felt that such efforts were useless. 'Why bother? It’s just dirt and water,' he would say dismissively. When Kavi invited him to help, Rohan would respond rudely, 'Leave me alone, I have better things to do.' One day, Kavi planted a delicate jasmine vine that required constant attention. Rohan laughed at him, saying, 'You are wasting your time on a tiny plant!' As weeks passed, Kavi’s section of the garden bloomed with vibrant colors, while Rohan’s patch became dry and barren. During the village festival, Kavi was honored with a beautiful gift. Rohan stood in the shadows, feeling a deep sense of regret. He realized that his indifference and lack of respect for good work had cost him a wonderful opportunity. He learned that ignoring what is valuable is the mark of a foolish heart.
