In a peaceful village lived two best friends, Arjun and Leo. They did everything together. However, one afternoon, during a game, Leo accidentally broke Arjun's favorite wooden toy. Arjun was furious. 'I never want to see you again!' he shouted, turning his back on Leo. From that day on, a cloud of anger hung over Arjun. Every time he saw Leo, he felt a sharp sting of resentment. This hatred felt like a heavy sickness inside him; he couldn't enjoy his meals, his sleep, or his other friends. He felt tired and unhappy all the time. His grandmother noticed his sadness and said, 'Arjun, holding onto anger is like carrying a hot coal to throw at someone else; you are the one getting burned. If you let go of this grudge, your heart will feel light, and people will admire your greatness.' Arjun realized she was right. He approached Leo and said, 'Leo, I am sorry for being so angry. Carrying this grudge has made me miserable. Can we be friends again?' Leo smiled brightly and hugged him. As the anger vanished, Arjun felt a wonderful lightness in his soul. Soon, the whole village spoke of Arjun's kind and forgiving heart.

The story illustrates that hatred is a distressing disease for the soul, and overcoming it brings lasting peace and a good reputation. To rid one-self of the distressing dtsease of hatred will bestow (on one) a never-decreasing imperishable fame
