The Bitter Harvest

In a peaceful valley lived two friends, Arjun and Vikram. They both shared a passion for gardening. One spring, a neighbor named Rohan planted a magnificent rose garden. Instead of being inspired, Arjun felt a burning jealousy. 'He thinks he is better than us,' Arjun would mutter. 'I wish his flowers would wither away.' Vikram tried to reason with him, saying, 'Why wish for his ruin when we can focus on our own beauty?' But Arjun was consumed by a desire to see Rohan fail. He began spending all his time watching Rohan's garden, looking for ways to sabotage it. He even tried to sneak into Rohan's yard to pull out the saplings. One evening, while trying to clumsily damage Rohan's plants, Arjun tripped over his own tools and fell into his own prize-winning flowerbed, crushing everything he had worked so hard to grow. In his obsession to see another fall, he destroyed his own success. Arjun realized too late that holding onto hatred only leads to one's own downfall.
