The Joy of Sharing

In a bright, sunny village lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun had many toys and a large bag of delicious cookies. One afternoon, he saw his friend, Ravi, sitting alone under a tree, looking very sad. Arjun walked up to him and asked, 'Ravi, why are you so quiet today?' Ravi replied softly, 'I forgot my lunch at home, and I am very hungry.' Without a second thought, Arjun opened his bag and shared his cookies with Ravi. As they ate together, Arjun noticed something wonderful. If Ravi hadn't been hungry and asked for help, Arjun wouldn't have had the chance to feel the warmth of being a giver. He realized that a gift only finds its true value when there is someone to receive it with a smile.
