The Invisible Pencil

The story illustrates the Kural's metaphor: just as the eye sees the art but not the tool that created it, deep love makes one overlook the flaws of a partner. Like the eyes which see not the pencil that paints it, I cannot see my husband's fault (just) when I meet him

In a peaceful little village lived a couple named Meera and Arjun. Arjun was a kind-hearted man, but he sometimes made small mistakes that would frustrate Meera. One afternoon, Arjun accidentally broke a beautiful flower pot while cleaning the porch. Meera was upset and focused only on his clumsiness. However, later that evening, Arjun returned home with a bouquet of Meera's favorite jasmine flowers and a warm smile. As she looked into his loving eyes, her anger simply melted away. She realized that when she looked at him, she didn't see his mistakes; she only saw his love. Just as we admire a beautiful painting without noticing the pencil that drew it, Meera found that her love for Arjun made his faults invisible to her eyes.
