In a peaceful valley lived a kind girl named Maya. Maya had a deep affection for her friend, Leo. However, Leo was indifferent to her feelings; he rarely spoke to her and often ignored her presence. Maya knew this clearly. Yet, every time she felt lonely, her heart would whisper, 'Go to him, Maya. Perhaps today he will be kind.' Despite knowing his coldness, she kept finding excuses to visit him, hoping for a smile that never came. One afternoon, as she stood before him, Leo simply turned away without a word. In that moment of silence, Maya had a sudden realization. She felt a strange tug in her soul, as if her own heart was scolding her: 'Why do you do this? You know he does not care for you, yet you still go to him, hoping he won't be angry or unkind.' She realized she was chasing a shadow. Maya decided to stop seeking warmth from a cold heart. She walked away, finally choosing to respect herself more than her longing.
