In a lush, green meadow near a dense forest, a donkey named Somu was peacefully grazing on the sweet grass. Unknown to him, a hungry fox was watching from the shadows of the trees, planning to make Somu its next meal.
The fox crept through the tall grass, moving silently and cautiously, getting closer and closer to Somu. When Somu realized a predator was lurking just a few feet away, his heart began to race with fear. He knew that if he simply bolted, the fox would easily catch him.
Thinking quickly, Somu decided to act differently. Instead of running, he began to limp and stumble awkwardly. The fox, confused by this strange behavior, stepped out from the grass and asked, "Hey Somu, why are you walking so strangely? Is something wrong?"
Somu put on a worried face and said, "Oh, Mr. Fox, you have no idea! This meadow is filled with hidden, sharp thorns. A large thorn just pierced my hind leg, and it hurts so much that I can barely stand straight. Please be careful; if those thorns get into your mouth, they will sting terribly!"
The fox, now worried about the thorns, slowed down. Somu continued, "Mr. Fox, you seem like a very kind soul. If you could just help me by pulling that single thorn out of my leg, I would be able to walk properly again. Please stand behind me, and when I lift my leg, you can pluck it out."
Driven by hunger and a bit of foolishness, the fox walked right behind Somu. As soon as the fox leaned in close to inspect the leg, Somu gathered all his strength and delivered a powerful kick.
"Thwack!" The fox was sent flying through the air and landed far away in the bushes. Seizing the moment, Somu galloped as fast as his legs could carry him toward the safety of the far hills. The fox sat there, nursing his bruised ego, while Somu breathed a sigh of relief, grateful for his quick thinking.
