In a lush, green farmyard lived two roosters named Sunny and Rocky. Although they looked magnificent with their bright feathers, they had a terrible habit of fighting over the smallest things. Whether it was a patch of shade or a single grain of corn, they could never agree.
One sunny morning, a large pile of fresh grain was scattered near the barn. Both roosters rushed toward it at the same time. "This is my territory!" Sunny crowed aggressively. "No, I saw it first!" Rocky retorted, puffing out his chest.
The argument quickly escalated into a fierce battle. They flapped their wings wildly and pecked at each other. After a long struggle, Sunny managed to overpower Rocky, leaving him exhausted and defeated on the ground. Feeling like the king of the farm, Sunny climbed to the highest fence post. He puffed out his chest and let out a deafening, triumphant crow to let everyone know he had won.
However, that loud, boastful cry caught the attention of a hungry fox lurking in the nearby bushes. Because Sunny was so busy celebrating his victory and showing off, he didn't notice the predator creeping closer. Before he could react, the fox pounced. Sunny’s obsession with proving he was the best had led him straight into danger. In the end, the fight had cost one rooster his strength, and his pride had cost him his life.
Moral
Boastfulness leads to downfall; peace is more valuable than pride.
