In the grand kingdom of Avanti, King Vikram ruled with wisdom. His most trusted advisor was a man named Veer, whose sharp intellect solved even the most complex problems. However, the other ministers grew jealous of Veer's influence and began plotting to remove him from the court.
One summer, King Vikram fell gravely ill with a fever. The jealous ministers saw this as their chance. They instructed the royal physician to prepare a special medicine, but with a catch: the medicine had to be mixed with the milk of a bull. Since bulls do not produce milk, they hoped the King would demand something impossible and blame Veer for failing to provide it.
The physician approached the King and said, 'Your Majesty, this medicine must be consumed with bull's milk.' The King, confused, asked, 'Where can I find such a thing?' The physician replied, 'If Veer were here, he would surely find a way to bring it to you.' When the King summoned Veer and explained the situation, Veer immediately sensed the trap.
Veer went home and shared the news with his daughter, Maya, who was known for her quick thinking. Maya smiled and said, 'Father, let me handle this.' The next morning, Maya went to the palace courtyard with a large basket of laundry and began washing clothes loudly by the palace pond.
The King, curious about the commotion, went to see her. 'Child, why are you washing clothes at this hour?' he asked.
Maya replied calmly, 'Your Majesty, my father is expecting a miracle today. He is about to give birth to a baby, and I am washing his clothes to prepare for the celebration.'
The King laughed, 'But child, only women give birth! How can a man do that?'
Maya looked him straight in the eye and said, 'If a King asks for bull's milk, then surely men can give birth to children, Your Majesty!'
The King froze. He realized the cleverness of Veer and the bravery of his daughter. He understood that the ministers were trying to trick him. The King praised Veer for his wisdom and rewarded Maya with beautiful jewels. The jealous ministers were humbled by their own failed scheme.
