In a sunny farmyard, two roosters lived side by side. One was named Rex, a large and powerful rooster with bright red feathers. The other was Pip, a small and quiet rooster. Rex was very proud of his strength and spent most of his time bullying Pip.
One morning, Pip was peacefully pecking at some seeds scattered on the ground. Seeing this, Rex marched over and began pecking at the ground near Pip to scare him away. "Go away, little one! This patch of ground is for the strong, not for weaklings like you!" Rex crowed mockingly.
Pip, not wanting a fight, quietly walked to a different corner of the yard to find food. This made Rex even angrier. To show everyone how dominant he was, Rex decided to climb onto the very top of the tall wooden fence. He stood tall and let out a thunderous crow that echoed through the farm.
However, that loud crow caught the attention of a hungry hawk circling high above. The hawk had always been afraid to enter the farm because of the farm dog, but seeing Rex standing high and exposed on the fence, it saw a perfect opportunity.
With a sudden swoop, the hawk dove down and snatched Rex right off the fence. Pip watched in horror as Rex was carried high into the sky. As Rex struggled in the hawk's grip, he realized that his pride had blinded him to the danger. He deeply regretted mocking Pip and showing off his strength in such a reckless way.
Rex learned the hard way that there is always someone stronger, and being arrogant only makes you a target.
Moral
Pride comes before a fall; never look down on others.
