In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun had a heart full of kindness, but his friend, Rohan, often enjoyed playing tricks and spreading lies. One afternoon, during the village festival, Rohan took Arjun’s favorite wooden toy and hid it behind a bush, telling everyone that Arjun had simply lost it. Arjun felt a pang of sadness, but instead of getting angry or seeking revenge, he closed his eyes and whispered a prayer, remembering the goodness and truth of the Divine. He chose to stay calm and kind. A few days later, while playing near the bushes, Rohan accidentally tripped and the toy fell out of his pocket. The other children saw it and realized Rohan had been dishonest. Feeling ashamed, Rohan approached Arjun and apologized with tears in his eyes. Arjun, with a peaceful smile, forgave him immediately. Because Arjun’s mind was always focused on higher virtues and divine goodness, the darkness of deceit could not touch his spirit.
The Light of Truth
The story illustrates how focusing on divine virtues protects a person from being swayed by the darkness of bad deeds. The two-fold deeds that spring from darkness shall not adhere to those who delight in the true praise of God
