Wisdom and Character

In a peaceful village lived a bright boy named Arjun. His father was a highly respected scholar in the community. Arjun was very intelligent, but he had a small flaw: he enjoyed making fun of others. One day, a new student joined his class. The boy was a bit slow in speaking, which made Arjun and his friends laugh at him. The new boy felt deeply hurt and sat quietly in a corner. A few days later, during a big school competition, Arjun forgot a very important lesson he had studied hard for. He felt terrible, thinking he had failed. His father, noticing his sadness, sat him down and said, 'Arjun, if you forget what you have learned, you can simply study again and recover it. But if you lose your kindness and respect for others, no amount of knowledge can restore your true dignity.' Arjun realized that his words had been more damaging than his forgetfulness. He went to the new student, apologized sincerely, and became known not just for his intelligence, but for his kind heart.
