In a peaceful village lived two friends, Arjun and Vikram. Arjun was known for his integrity and deep respect for others' boundaries. Vikram, however, often let his desires cloud his judgment. One evening, during a village festival, Vikram saw a beautiful silk scarf worn by a woman who was married to another man. Instead of admiring the beauty and moving on, Vikram began to obsess over it. He thought, 'If I could get this for my wife, she would be so happy.' He even considered taking it without permission. Arjun, noticing Vikram's troubling thoughts, sat him down. 'Vikram,' Arjun said softly, 'true character isn't just about not stealing gold. It is about respecting the sanctity of another person's life and their relationships. To desire what belongs to another's home—be it their belongings or their loved ones—is to lose your own peace.' Vikram looked at his friend and felt a wave of shame. He realized that true happiness comes from contentment and respecting the dignity of every family. From that day on, he lived with honor.
