The Echo of Silence

In a peaceful valley lived a young boy named Leo. Leo was bright and energetic, but he had a habit of talking constantly, often about things that didn't matter. One sunny afternoon, while playing with his friends, Leo accidentally knocked over his grandfather’s favorite ceramic pot. Fearing trouble, Leo immediately started making up excuses, talking and talking to cover his mistake. His friends began arguing about whether it was an accident or carelessness. The more Leo spoke to defend himself, the more the argument grew, turning a small mishap into a huge conflict. His grandfather, a wise man known for his calm nature, watched from a distance. Later that evening, he called Leo to the garden. He handed Leo a clear glass of water and asked him to drop a single piece of charcoal into it. As the water turned murky, the grandfather said, 'Leo, words are like this charcoal. When you speak without purpose or truth, you cloud the clarity of your character and the peace around you. A truly wise person knows that silence is often more powerful than empty words.' Leo realized that his constant chatter hadn't helped; it had only made things muddier. From that day on, Leo learned to listen more and speak only when his words could add value or kindness.
