The Echo of Kindness

In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Leo and his father, Samuel. Samuel was known for his immense kindness; he never turned away a hungry animal or a person in need. In the same region lived a wealthy merchant named Victor, who was known for his cold and harsh heart. One scorching summer, a small, stray dog wandered into the village, weak from thirst. The dog limped toward Samuel’s porch. Without a second thought, Samuel shared his water and bread with the creature. However, when Victor saw the dog, he shouted, 'Get this filthy thing away from my path!' and kicked dust at it. Leo watched this and asked, 'Father, why was he so mean?' Samuel replied softly, 'Leo, when we ignore the suffering of others, we forget the value of goodness. Those who lack compassion often forget that the pain they cause others eventually finds its way back to them.' A few months later, Victor was traveling through a remote forest when his carriage broke down, leaving him stranded and helpless. Because he had always been unkind to the villagers, no one came to his rescue. Eventually, a group of travelers led by Samuel found him. Seeing Victor's distress, they helped him despite his past behavior. Victor realized that his previous cruelty had left him alone, and that kindness is the only true wealth.
