In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun was energetic, but he had a bad habit of playing pranks that often hurt others' feelings or caused them minor trouble. He thought it was all just fun. One afternoon, while running through the garden, he accidentally tripped a younger boy named Leo, causing Leo to fall and scrape his knee badly. Instead of helping, Arjun felt a sudden pang of guilt and ran away to hide. That night, Arjun couldn't sleep. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw Leo's tearful face and felt a heavy weight in his chest. He realized that the pain he caused Leo had traveled back to haunt his own peace of mind. The next morning, Arjun went to Leo, apologized sincerely, and helped him clean the wound. From that day on, Arjun understood that to live a life free of sorrow, one must ensure they do not cause sorrow to others.
The Echo of Kindness
The story illustrates that causing pain to others leads to inner turmoil, reflecting the Kural's teaching on avoiding evil to find peace. Sorrow will come upon those who cause pain to others; therfore those, who desire to be free from sorrow, give no pain to others
