The Butterfly's Flight

In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun loved collecting beautiful things. One sunny afternoon, while wandering near the forest, he spotted a magnificent butterfly. Its wings shimmered with colors he had never seen before. 'This is mine!' Arjun thought greedily. 'I will keep it in my glass box so it stays beautiful forever.' He carefully caught the butterfly and locked it inside a clear jar. But as the hours passed, the butterfly stopped fluttering. Its vibrant colors faded, and it lay still at the bottom of the jar. Arjun began to cry, 'Why is it dying? I wanted it to stay like this forever!' An old wise man passing by saw his tears and said, 'Arjun, the beauty of a butterfly is in its flight, not in its stillness. Everything in this world changes—the seasons, the clouds, and even life itself. To think that something fleeting can be permanent is a mistake of the mind.' Arjun realized his error. He slowly opened the jar. The butterfly, though weak, fluttered its wings and flew toward the flowers. Watching it fly, Arjun understood that true beauty lies in appreciating things as they are, rather than trying to trap the temporary.
