King Vikram was a kind ruler of a prosperous land called Chandrapur. While he was loved by all, he faced a difficult challenge: people often expressed their disagreements in very harsh ways. One summer, a severe drought hit the kingdom. To solve this, Vikram planned to build a large canal to bring water from the distant mountains. However, some wealthy landowners, fearing their fields would be affected by the construction, came to the royal court. They didn't just disagree; they shouted insults at the King. 'You are foolish!' they yelled. 'This plan will ruin us all!' The courtiers gasped, expecting the King to erupt in anger. But Vikram remained calm. He listened to every stinging word without interrupting. When they finished, he spoke softly, 'I hear your fears, and I respect your honesty. Let me explain how this canal will actually save our lands in the long run.' He calmly presented the facts. Seeing his composure, the angry landowners felt ashamed of their behavior. Because the King chose patience over anger, the people felt safe and respected under his rule, and the kingdom flourished.
