In a peaceful valley, there lived a ruler named King Vikram. While the kingdom was prosperous, Vikram was a greedy man who demanded heavy taxes from his subjects. In a small village nearby, a hardworking farmer named Madhav struggled to feed his family. His wife, Sarita, often wept in silence because they had nothing left after paying the king's collectors. The village was filled with the sound of quiet sobbing. Madhav and the other villagers felt broken by the king's cruelty. Little did Vikram know, the tears shed by his people were acting like a silent saw. As the people suffered, they stopped trading, they stopped building, and the economy of the kingdom began to crumble. The wealth Vikram hoarded in his palace became meaningless because the very foundation of his kingdom—the people—was in pain. Eventually, the lack of prosperity and the growing unrest led to the depletion of the royal treasury. The king realized too late that the tears of the oppressed are more powerful than any weapon in destroying a ruler's greatness.
The Tears of the People
The story illustrates how the suffering of the people leads to the downfall of a ruler's prosperity. Will not the tears, shed by a people who cannot endure the oppression which they suffer (from their king), become a saw to waste away his wealth ?
