In the ancient kingdom of Chola, there lived a young man named Ilango. He was incredibly bright and knew everything about history and law. However, Ilango had a problem: whenever he met someone new, he would stumble over his words and lose his composure. He lacked the grace to carry himself well.
In the same village lived a young man named Kathir. Kathir was not only well-educated, but he also possessed a natural charm. He spoke with kindness, walked with confidence, and most importantly, he could stay calm even in the most stressful situations. He knew how to control his emotions.
One day, the King’s council needed to send an envoy to a neighboring kingdom to negotiate a peace treaty. At first, they thought of Ilango because of his vast knowledge. But the King shook his head. 'Knowledge alone is not enough,' the King said. 'An envoy must be able to win hearts with his personality and remain steady in his mind when things get difficult.'
They chose Kathir. When Kathir arrived at the neighboring palace, he didn't just present facts; he presented himself with dignity. He listened patiently, spoke eloquently, and remained calm when the other King grew angry. Because of his balanced nature, the treaty was signed successfully.
Watching from afar, Ilango realized that being smart was only one part of the journey. To truly succeed in the world, one needs wisdom, a graceful manner, and emotional strength.
