The Wise Warning and the Foolish Friend

In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun was bright, but he had a bad habit of listening to his friend, Ravi. Ravi was a boy who always encouraged Arjun to do silly and wrong things. One sunny afternoon, Ravi whispered, 'Arjun, let's sneak into the neighbor's garden and take those ripe mangoes without asking!' Arjun felt uneasy, but Ravi kept teasing him until he agreed. As they were reaching for the fruit, the village elder, Mr. Raghav, saw them. Mr. Raghav was known for his wisdom. Instead of just scolding them, he looked Arjun in the eye and said firmly, 'Arjun, a friend who encourages you to do wrong is not a friend at all. If you follow Ravi, you will lose your respect and your future. It is better to be alone than to walk with someone who leads you to ruin.' Arjun felt hurt by the stern words and walked away with tears in his eyes. However, Ravi continued to laugh and pull Arjun into more mischief. A few days later, following one of Ravi's bad ideas, Arjun got into serious trouble with the village guards. As he sat there, feeling regretful, he realized that Mr. Raghav's harsh truth had been a blessing. The sting of the wise man's disapproval was far more valuable than the constant, dangerous company of a foolish friend.
