Once, there was a prosperous kingdom called Sundarapuram. King Vikram was a wise and kind ruler, but his younger brother, Arjun, felt overlooked. Whenever the people cheered for Vikram, a tiny seed of resentment grew in Arjun's heart. It wasn't a loud anger, but a quiet, bitter feeling.
As time passed, this small resentment turned into deep-seated hatred. Instead of supporting his brother, Arjun began to whisper doubts to the ministers. 'Is Vikram truly the best for us?' he would ask. He started making decisions just to contradict Vikram's plans.
The breaking point came during a great famine. Vikram wanted to share the royal grain with the poor, but Arjun, driven by spite, convinced the treasury guards to hide the supplies, hoping Vikram would look weak. This caused a massive riot in the city. When an enemy army saw the chaos and the division within the royal family, they saw their chance and attacked. Because the brothers refused to work together, the kingdom fell. The internal grudge had invited external destruction.
