The Proud Youth and the Wise Sage

In a peaceful valley lived a young man named Arjun. Arjun was wealthy and always surrounded by many followers who praised his every move. Because of this, he became quite arrogant. One afternoon, while walking through the forest, he encountered Sage Vedant, a man known for his immense patience and kindness. Arjun, wanting to show off his power, decided to play a prank. He and his friends blocked the path to the Sage’s small hermitage with heavy logs, laughing as the old man struggled to pass. 'What can a simple hermit do to someone as powerful as me?' Arjun mocked. Sage Vedant didn't get angry; he simply looked at Arjun with profound sadness and continued his walk. However, as time passed, Arjun’s luck turned. His business ventures failed, and his many followers abandoned him when he faced trouble. Realizing his isolation, Arjun sought out the Sage to ask for guidance. Vedant told him, 'True strength is not in your wealth or your crowd, but in how you treat those who possess greatness of soul. To offend a noble heart is to invite your own downfall.' Arjun realized that his arrogance had cost him his peace, and he vowed to live with humility from then on.
