The True Ornament

In a bright little village lived a boy named Arjun. Arjun loved wearing shiny things. Whenever there was a festival, he would dress in his finest silk clothes and wear bright, glittering accessories. One sunny afternoon, during the village fair, Arjun walked through the crowd with his head held high, looking down at everyone else. He acted as if he were much more important than the other children. Instead of making friends, his arrogant way of walking and talking made others feel uncomfortable and sad. No one wanted to play with him. That evening, his grandmother, Meera, sat him down. She said softly, 'Arjun, those shiny clothes make you look bright, but they are just outside. Real beauty comes from modesty. When you respect others and carry yourself with humility, people love you. Without that kindness, your pride becomes a thorn in everyone's side.' Arjun realized that his pride was pushing people away. The next day, he went back to the fair, not to show off, but to help and play with others. As he smiled and spoke kindly, he realized he felt much happier, and everyone wanted to be his friend.
