In a lush green valley, there lived a kind farmer named Samuel. He owned a beautiful farm where he lived happily with his loyal animals: a playful puppy named Pip and a hardworking donkey named Barnaby.
Samuel loved Pip dearly. Whenever Pip wagged his tail and jumped on Samuel's lap, the farmer would laugh and give him gentle pats. Barnaby, the donkey, watched this from a distance. A seed of jealousy began to grow in his heart. 'Why does the small puppy get all the attention and treats? I do all the heavy lifting, yet I am ignored,' Barnaby thought grumpily.
One sunny afternoon, Samuel was resting under a large mango tree. Pip ran up to him, licked his hand affectionately, and sat quietly by his side. Delighted, Samuel reached into his pocket and gave Pip a large, delicious biscuit.
Barnaby saw this and thought he had found a shortcut to affection. 'If I act just like Pip, Samuel will give me a feast!' he decided. He trotted over quickly and, instead of standing beside the farmer, he tried to lean his heavy body against Samuel and licked his face vigorously.
Because Barnaby was so large and heavy, the sudden weight caused Samuel to lose his balance and tumble to the ground. The farmhands rushed over to help the startled farmer. Although Samuel was not seriously hurt, he was deeply disappointed by Barnaby's unpredictable behavior. Barnaby had forgotten that a donkey's role is to be steady and strong, not to mimic a tiny puppy. Because he could no longer be trusted to behave sensibly, Barnaby was sent away from the farm.
Moral
Trying to imitate others by abandoning your own nature only leads to trouble.
