In a peaceful village nestled near the mountains, lived an elderly man named Somu. Somu was obsessed with the night sky. He spent every evening studying the stars, believing he could predict the future by observing their patterns. He often told the villagers that he was the only one who truly understood the language of the heavens.

One evening, as the sun was setting, Somu decided to take a walk along the forest path. His eyes were fixed upward, searching for any new celestial signs. Suddenly, a bright, shimmering star appeared through a gap in the clouds. It was unlike any star he had ever seen before.

"Great heavens!" Somu exclaimed, his heart racing. "This new star is a sign of a massive cosmic shift! A great storm is coming, or perhaps the mountains themselves will tremble!" He became so caught up in his grand predictions that he began walking faster, shouting his discoveries to the empty air.

Lost in his excitement and staring only at the sky, he failed to notice the winding path narrowing. Suddenly, his foot caught on a loose stone, and he tumbled straight into a deep, muddy ditch by the roadside. "Oof! Help!" he cried out.

Villagers, hearing his shout, rushed to the spot. "Somu, are you alright?" they asked, helping him climb out.

Breathless and covered in mud, Somu pointed a trembling finger at the sky. "Did you see it? That star! It means the world is about to change forever!"

A young boy in the crowd chuckled softly and said, "Grandfather, before you tell us how the world is going to change, perhaps you should have noticed the ditch that changed your walk! It is better to watch your own step before watching the stars."

The villagers smiled knowingly, and Somu, realizing his foolishness, looked down at his muddy feet in silence.
