In a peaceful farm nestled near a dense forest, many colorful hens and proud roosters lived happily. Because the farm was so close to the wild woods, foxes and other predators often tried to sneak in to steal the birds. To keep them safe, the farmer had placed several sturdy traps along the edge of the fence.
One bright morning, a brave rooster named Mani went out to the garden to forage for seeds. As he pecked at the ground, he noticed something unusual near the fence. A fox was trapped inside a large net, struggling to get free.
Seeing Mani, the fox put on a very sad face. 'Oh, kind rooster!' the fox pleaded. 'I was simply on my way to visit an old friend when I accidentally stumbled into this trap. Please, if you release me, I promise we shall be the best of friends forever!'
Mani was a very observant bird. He noticed the hungry glint in the fox's eyes and realized that the fox wasn't looking for friendship, but for a meal. He knew that if he helped the fox, the predator would surely come back to hunt his entire flock.
Instead of approaching the net, Mani stood tall and began to crow as loudly as he could. 'Cock-a-doodle-doo!' his voice echoed through the farm. Hearing the sudden, frantic alarm, the farmer rushed out of the house. Seeing the fox in the trap, the farmer quickly realized the danger and ensured the predator could not escape to harm the birds. By using his voice instead of his strength, Mani saved the farm.
