In a vast, green forest, there lived a mighty lion who was respected by all the animals for his fairness. One sunny afternoon, while the lion was resting under the shade of a large banyan tree, he heard a frantic sound.
A hungry wolf was sprinting through the bushes, dragging a small, frightened lamb by its wool. The lamb was bleating loudly for help. The wolf had spotted the lamb wandering alone and decided to take it for himself.
Without hesitation, the lion sprang into action. With a powerful roar that shook the trees, the lion intercepted the wolf. Using its strength, the lion pushed the wolf aside and gently nudged the lamb toward safety. The little lamb, trembling but safe, stayed close to the lion.
The wolf, feeling embarrassed and angry, growled at the lion, "How dare you! That lamb was my meal. You have stolen my property!"
The lion looked at the wolf with calm, wise eyes and asked, "Tell me, Wolf, is this lamb yours? Did you raise it with care, or did a shepherd give it to you as a gift?"
The wolf stood silent, unable to argue. He knew he had simply snatched the lamb from the meadow. Unable to face the truth or the lion's gaze, he snarled one last time and ran away into the deep woods, feeling ashamed.
The lion then guided the lamb back toward the meadow where the shepherd lived. The forest animals learned that day that stolen gains never bring true satisfaction.
Moral
Success gained through wrong means will never last.
