In a lush, green forest, life moved in a perfect rhythm. The animals that hunted by day slept peacefully at night, and those that hunted by night rested during the daylight hours. Everyone respected each other's space, except for a mischievous monkey named Milo.
Milo lived in a large banyan tree near a sparkling pond. In one of the hollows of the tree lived an old, wise owl named Ollie. Because Ollie was a nocturnal hunter, he spent the entire day in a deep, peaceful slumber. Milo, however, found nothing more fun than disturbing Ollie's rest. He would swing from branch to branch, making loud crashing sounds and shouting just to see Ollie flinch.
One sunny morning, Milo teased, "Hey, Ollie! Why are you such a lazybones? You sleep all day while the rest of us are playing! Wake up!"
Ollie opened one tired eye and whispered, "Milo, please. I work through the night. If I don't get my rest during the day, I won't have the strength to hunt. Please let me sleep."
Milo simply laughed and swung away, planning his next prank. Ollie realized that gentle words wouldn't work; he needed to teach Milo a lesson about the importance of rest.
That night, Ollie went to the pond to meet the frogs. "Friends!" he announced, "Tonight is a grand celebration for the Forest King! We must have a magnificent musical night. If we sing and dance together, the whole forest will rejoice!"
The frogs began to croak loudly, "Ribbit! Ribbit!" Hearing this, the crickets in the grass started chirping in rhythm, "Chirp! Chirp!" Even the fireflies, wanting to join the fun, flew around the banyan tree in a swirling dance, turning the night into a bright, glowing spectacle.
The forest was filled with constant noise and flashing lights. Milo, who was trying to catch some sleep in his nest, found it impossible. Every time he closed his eyes, a loud croak or a bright flash would startle him. He tossed and turned all night, exhausted.
When the sun rose, Milo looked terrible. His eyes were red, puffy, and heavy. Ollie flew down and asked softly, "How was your night, Milo? Was it difficult to rest with all that noise?"
Milo sighed deeply. "Yes, Ollie. I couldn't sleep for a single moment. I finally understand how it feels when someone disturbs your peace."
From that day on, Milo became a quiet and respectful neighbor, understanding that everyone needs their time to rest.
Moral
