In a peaceful valley lived a kind-hearted farmer named Samuel. One freezing winter evening, while Samuel was checking his crops, he noticed something motionless near a bush. As he approached, he realized it was a small forest snake, frozen stiff by the biting cold.
Samuel felt a deep sense of pity. 'If I leave it here, the frost will take its life,' he thought. He gently picked up the shivering creature and tucked it inside his warm coat, holding it close to his chest to share his body heat. Slowly, the warmth began to work its magic. The snake’s movements became less rigid, and it started to stir.
However, as soon as the snake regained its strength, it did not show gratitude. Instead, driven by its wild instinct, it lunged forward and bit Samuel's hand sharply. As the venom began to spread, Samuel felt a wave of dizziness and weakness. He slumped to the ground, clutching his hand in pain.
Looking at the snake, Samuel sighed heavily. 'I tried to be kind to a creature that does not understand kindness,' he whispered. 'My compassion was misplaced.' He lost consciousness as the pain took over. Eventually, neighbors found him and helped him recover, but Samuel never forgot the lesson that some natures cannot be changed by kindness.
Moral
Be careful when showing kindness to those who are naturally harmful.
