In a cozy little village, an elderly couple lived a peaceful life. One sunny afternoon, the grandmother baked a batch of magical, golden-brown honey cakes. They were so fragrant and delicious that they seemed to glow. Suddenly, to the couple's absolute shock, one of the cakes sprouted tiny legs and hopped right out of the kitchen window!
"Stop! Come back!" shouted the grandfather, grabbing his walking stick. The grandmother ran after it, shouting, "You can't run forever!" But the little honey cake just giggled and sped away, shouting, "You'll never catch me!"
As the cake rolled through the meadows, a hungry little pig spotted it. The sweet aroma was irresistible. The pig joined the chase, squealing with excitement. A little further down the path, a large cow grazing in the field saw the golden treat. "That looks like the tastiest snack ever!" the cow thought, and she began to trot after the escaping cake.
The little cake was getting tired and frightened. Soon, it reached the edge of a wide, rushing river. "Oh no!" the cake cried. "If I touch that water, I will melt away into nothing!" It stood trembling by the bank.
Just then, a sly fox emerged from the bushes. The fox had been watching the whole chase and was very hungry. Seeing the cake in distress, the fox put on a kind face and said, "Poor little thing! Don't be afraid. I am a very kind fox. If you climb onto my head, I will carry you safely across the river and away from all these hungry animals."
The cake, feeling relieved to find a 'friend,' believed the fox's lies. It carefully hopped onto the fox's soft head. The fox began to walk slowly, pretending to be helpful. But as soon as they were near the water, the fox suddenly opened its mouth wide and shook its head vigorously. With a quick snap, the honey cake tumbled straight into the fox's mouth. The fox had used kindness as a trap.
Moral
Never trust a stranger too easily; always think carefully before believing someone's words.
