At the edge of a vast forest stood a steep mountain. On its very peak, a goat named Snowy was grazing peacefully. Snowy was a calm animal, but more importantly, she was very observant.
Nearby, a hungry fox named Shadow was prowling through the bushes. His stomach growled loudly with hunger. When he spotted Snowy high up on the ridge, his eyes gleamed with greed. Shadow thought of a clever way to bring her down.
He crept to the base of the mountain and called out in a friendly voice, 'Oh, dear friend! Why are you working so hard up there among those dry, brown weeds? Down in the valley, the grass is lush, green, and incredibly sweet. You should come down and feast!'
Snowy looked down at the fox. She noticed that his eyes weren't looking at her well-being, but rather at her as if she were a meal. She realized the fox was trying to trick her into a trap.
'Thank you for your kindness, Shadow,' Snowy replied calmly. 'But I was thinking—if I come down to the valley to satisfy my hunger, will it be my hunger that is satisfied, or yours?'
Realizing the trap, Snowy didn't wait for a response. She quickly moved to a safer, rocky part of the mountain where the fox could not reach her. Shadow the fox was left with nothing but an empty stomach and a lesson learned.

Never trust a stranger's kindness blindly when you are in a vulnerable position.
