In a peaceful village near a lush forest lived two inseparable friends, Kavin and Mithun. Kavin was energetic and always rushing ahead, while Mithun was calm, observant, and incredibly brave.
One sunny afternoon, while exploring the edge of the woods, Kavin accidentally lost his footing and tumbled into an old, deep stone well hidden by overgrown vines. The echoes of his terrified cries filled the air. "Mithun! Help me! I can't climb out!" Kavin yelled, his voice trembling with fear.
Mithun’s heart raced, but he knew panicking would help no one. He scanned the surroundings frantically. Near an old shed, he spotted a sturdy rope and a small metal bucket hanging from a hook. Without wasting a second, Mithun rushed to the well. "Kavin, listen to me! Grab onto this bucket! I am right here, and I won't let you go!" Mithun shouted with unwavering confidence.
Mithun planted his feet firmly on the ground and pulled with every ounce of strength in his body. It was an exhausting struggle, but he refused to give up. Slowly, inch by inch, he hauled the bucket upward until Kavin finally reached the top, safe and sound. Both boys collapsed on the grass, catching their breath.
When they returned to the village, a crowd gathered. Instead of celebrating, some adults began to whisper skeptically. "How could a small boy pull someone out of such a deep well? It’s impossible!" they muttered, doubting Mithun’s feat.
An elderly wise man, who had been watching from a distance, stepped forward. "You are looking at this the wrong way," he said gently. "Mithun succeeded not just because of his muscles, but because of his spirit. Had any of you stood there and told him, 'You are too small, you cannot do this,' his courage would have crumbled, and he might have lost his friend. We must nurture the confidence of our children, not doubt it."
The villagers felt ashamed of their skepticism. They realized that belief is as important as strength. From that day on, Mithun was celebrated as a true hero of the village.
Moral
True strength comes from courage and the belief in oneself.
