In a peaceful village lived a hardworking farmer named Somu. He took great pride in his lush green garden. One bright morning, while inspecting his crops, he spotted something extraordinary. A single, massive, golden mango hung from the center of his tree. It was the largest and most beautiful fruit he had ever seen.
"If I can harvest this one mango and sell it at the market, I can buy many wonderful things for my family!" Somu thought excitedly. He reached up to pluck it, but the stem was incredibly strong. No matter how much he pulled, the mango stayed firmly attached.
Somu first tried using a long stick to nudge it loose, but the fruit wouldn't budge. He then called his wife, Maliga. Together, they gripped the stem and pulled with all their might. "One, two, three!" they grunted, but the mango remained still. Next, their son, Kapilan, joined them. He grabbed his father's waist, and they pulled together, yet the fruit stayed put.
Then came their daughter, Nila. The whole family was now tugging and pulling, but the giant mango was stubborn. Watching this struggle, Somu's loyal dog, Mani, and the tiny, agile cat, Chinnu, ran towards them. Even though they were different in size, they joined the effort. Mani gripped the base with his teeth, Chinnu used her claws to help steady the branch, and the humans pulled in perfect rhythm.
"Heave... ho!" they all shouted in unison. Suddenly, with a loud "pop!", the golden mango snapped free and fell into their waiting hands! Everyone cheered and danced with joy.
Nila laughed and said, "See? You all tried so hard and failed, but as soon as my little kitty Chinnu arrived, it was easy!"
Kapilan shook his head and replied, "That's not true, Nila. Mani the dog was also very strong. We couldn't have done it without him either."
Somu smiled warmly at his children and said, "Listen, children. It wasn't just the cat or just the dog. When we worked individually, we couldn't move it. But when we all worked together at the exact same moment toward one goal, we succeeded. True strength lies in unity!"
Moral
Unity is strength; working together makes the impossible possible.
