In a peaceful valley lived a hardworking farmer named Samuel. He spent his days nurturing a beautiful vegetable garden. However, the animals from the nearby forest often wandered into his patch, nibbling on his precious crops.
Determined to protect his hard work, Samuel set a large net around the edges of his garden. The next morning, he walked out to find three animals trapped: a small rabbit, a clever fox, and a large wild boar.
"Why have you come to ruin my garden?" Samuel asked sternly.
The rabbit, trembling with fear, looked up with teary eyes. "Please forgive me, sir! I was so hungry, and I only wanted a few carrots to survive," the rabbit whispered truthfully.
The fox, trying to look helpful, smirked and said, "Don't be angry, Samuel! I saw your soil was getting dry. I only came to dig a small well to help your plants grow better."
The wild boar, with a greedy glint in his eye, added, "And I, sir, saw sparkling jewels buried deep under your soil! I came to dig them up and share the wealth with you!"
Samuel saw through their tricks immediately. He knew a fox wouldn't dig a well for free, and a boar wouldn't care about jewels. He realized the rabbit was the only one being honest. He gently released the rabbit, but for the fox and the boar, he gave them a stern scolding and chased them far away from his land. From that day on, the animals learned to respect the farmer's boundaries.

Honesty earns trust, while lies lead to trouble.
