Deep within a lush, green forest, many animals lived in harmony. At the foot of a massive ancient oak tree, a family of rabbits made their home. Among them was a little bunny named Bunu. Unlike his swift and slender siblings, Bunu was born quite chubby and slow. His movements were heavy, and he lacked the agility that rabbits are known for.
Bunu's parents were deeply worried. "If you cannot run fast, how will you escape the foxes and hawks of the forest?" they would ask with concern. To keep him safe, they made a strict rule: Bunu must never leave the shelter of the tree roots. While this kept him safe, it made Bunu feel lonely and sad. He spent his days watching the other animals play from a distance, wishing he could join them.
High up in the branches of the same oak tree lived a gentle dove named Pip. Pip noticed Bunu’s loneliness. One afternoon, while Pip was busy gathering twigs to build a nest, Bunu quietly gathered some soft moss and small leaves, placing them near the base of the tree for Pip. Pip realized that despite his size, Bunu had a very kind heart. From that day on, Pip decided to be Bunu's friend.
Pip knew that Bunu needed more than just company; he needed strength. So, Pip came up with a clever plan. Every morning, before Bunu woke up, Pip would fly down and lay a long, winding path of bright green leaves leading from Bunu’s door around the tree. When Bunu emerged, he would see the beautiful green trail. To avoid touching the bare ground, Bunu would leap from one leaf to another, hopping and jumping along the path.
To Bunu, it felt like a wonderful game. He would spend hours jumping across the leafy trail, laughing as he moved. However, Pip knew that this was actually a perfect exercise routine. The constant jumping and leaping strengthened Bunu's muscles and improved his coordination. Slowly but surely, the chubby bunny began to change. His body became lean, his legs grew strong, and his energy increased immensely.
Soon, Bunu was no longer the slow little bunny who stayed hidden. He became one of the fastest runners in the forest! He could dash through the bushes and jump over logs with ease. His parents, seeing his incredible transformation, realized their mistake. "We tried to protect you by holding you back, but your friend Pip helped you find your true strength," they said proudly. With their blessing, Bunu finally began his grand adventure in the wide, wonderful forest.
