Kavin and the Golden Rule of Speech

In the peaceful village of Green Valley lived a bright boy named Kavin. Kavin was kind and helpful, but he had one big flaw: he spoke without thinking. When he was angry or even when he was joking, he would say sharp words that hurt people's feelings. One sunny afternoon, during the village fair, his friend Mithin showed off a beautiful wooden toy he had carved himself. Kavin felt a pang of jealousy because he didn't have such a toy. While Mithin was away for a moment, Kavin loudly remarked, 'That toy looks like a piece of junk! The carving is so clumsy!' A few other children nearby heard him and started laughing at Mithin's toy. When Mithin returned and heard what had been said, his eyes filled with tears. He didn't argue; he simply walked away, heartbroken. That night, Kavin couldn't sleep. The image of Mithin's sad face haunted him. He realized that his words, once spoken, could not be taken back, and they had caused real pain. The next morning, Kavin went to Mithin, bowed his head, and said, 'I am so sorry, Mithin. I was wrong and my words were unkind. Your toy is actually wonderful.' Mithin smiled and forgave him, but Kavin had learned a lesson he would never forget: a tongue left unguarded can cause endless misery.
