Karthik's True Victory

In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Karthik. He was a bright child, but sometimes, when he thought no one was watching, he would take small shortcuts or break minor rules. One sunny afternoon, the school held its annual sports day. Karthik had practiced hard for the 100-meter sprint; he desperately wanted the gold medal. As the race began, he was leading the pack. Suddenly, his friend Arjun tripped and fell hard on the track. Karthik saw this from the corner of his eye. For a split second, a thought flashed in his mind: 'If I keep running, I will win. No one will even know Arjun fell.' But then, he remembered his father's words: 'A victory gained through dishonesty brings only shame and a heavy heart.' Karthik stopped running. He turned back, helped Arjun up, and walked him to the medical tent. Although Karthik didn't win the race, the entire school stood up and cheered for his kindness and integrity. That evening, as he sat with his father, Karthik realized that winning a medal wasn't as important as keeping his conscience clear. He understood that staying true to his values was his greatest strength.
