In a peaceful village lived two friends, Kavi and Rohan. Kavi was a hardworking farmer who took great care of his small vegetable patch. Rohan, on the other hand, spent most of his time watching what others had, feeling a bitter sting of jealousy whenever Kavi succeeded. One summer, Kavi’s garden flourished so beautifully that the entire village praised his skill.
Instead of being happy for his friend, Rohan felt a dark cloud growing in his heart. 'Why does Kavi get all the praise?' he thought. Driven by envy, Rohan decided to ruin Kavi's success. Late one night, he crept into Kavi's garden and poured harmful salt into the soil of the prize-winning plants. The next morning, Kavi stood weeping over his withered crops. But Rohan's victory was short-lived. A villager had seen Rohan's shadow that night. As punishment, Rohan was fined heavily, losing all the savings he had worked so hard to collect. He sat alone, realizing that in trying to pull Kavi down, he had only destroyed himself.
